Today Mayor Matt Doherty announced the “Buy a Board” Campaign in Belmar. It will allow residents and visitors alike to donate money towards the actual boards that make up the boardwalk.
“This is a great opportunity for those who have come to love Belmar as a clean, beautiful and family beach to be a part of the boardwalk reconstruction process,” said Mayor Doherty.
Board level options are as follows:
· $5,000 Big Kahuna
· $2,500 Surf Rider
· $1,000 Sun Worshiper
· $500 Boogie Boarder
· $250 Board Runner
· $100 Clam Digger
· $25 Beach Bum
Contributors will also be able to have their name and board level displayed on a beach entrance of their choice.
“Belmar has had a boardwalk every summer since 1875,” said Mayor Doherty, “and with everyone’s help, this summer will be no different.”
